The OMC 88 M2 casting machine (and all models from Old Moon) features a unique and essential capability not found in other casting machines: the Flask Leakage Detection system. This feature tests and detects any leakage in the flask before the casting process begins (before pouring molten metal into the flask). This helps prevent molten metal leaks in the casting chamber, which could cause damage to the machine and lead to costly repairs. Moreover, it prevents the loss of valuable metals.

Minimizing Oxidation
Melting metal in a vacuum sealed system ensures that during the melting process, there is no interaction with oxygen (which could negatively affect the melting of precious metals). In this controlled environment, inert gases (such as Nitrogen or Argon) are introduced to cover the surface of the molten metal, preventing oxidation. This results in improved quality of the molten metal and is considered a superior method compared to other casting techniques.
