Minimizing Oxidation

Melting metal in a vacuum sealed system ensures that during the melting process, there is no interaction with oxygen (which could negatively affect the melting of precious metals). In this controlled environment, inert gases (such as Nitrogen or Argon) are introduced to cover the surface of the molten metal, preventing oxidation.
